Chlorine Rinse Concluded - City of Round Rock

The City of Round Rock is concluding its temporary chlorine conversion and will begin transitioning back to standard chloramine disinfection on Tuesday, September 1st. Because The Meadows at Chandler Creek MUD receives water from the City of Round Rock, this change directly impacts our community's water supply.
What to Expect
Taste & Odor Changes: During the transition, you may notice temporary variations in the taste or smell of your tap water. This is a normal part of switching the disinfectant back to chloramine.
Water Quality: The water remains completely safe to drink, cook with, and use for standard daily activities throughout the transition process.
Dialysis & Fish Owners: Standard chloramine protocols apply. Dialysis patients should consult their medical providers, and owners of fish, amphibians, or reptiles should ensure their water conditioners properly neutralize chloramines.
Quick Tips for Residents
Flush Your Lines: If you notice a stronger taste or odor, run your cold water tap for 1–2 minutes to clear out sitting water in your household plumbing.
Chill Your Water: Storing tap water in an open or loosely covered pitcher in the refrigerator for a few hours naturally improves taste and eliminates residual odors.
